Heritage Trail (吃吧!冲冲冲!), Students will be going around Toa Payoh Lorong 4 & 6 to try out the different cuisines and understand about food cultures. Not only that, they will have to adapt to the environment and understand the different culture/races staying under one roof. Let them have the experience of the neighbourhood vibes. The rich educational value of the local culture.
Learning Journey @ Supermarket & Project Cookout(我是小厨师)- Project cookout will give them the first experience of preparing their food and cooking their own meal as a group. There will be 4 different cuisines for the project cookout (Malay-Mee Rebus, Western-Sausage Spaghetti, Indian-Curry Chicken & Prata, and Singaporean-Rojak & Ice Jelly). Students will have to draw lots before the race start and they would have to purchase the ingredients at the supermarket after their heritage trail.
We recently welcomed out the 30th batch of students from Shanghai and they were all excited to explore a township in Singapore. The day was planned around various spots around Toa Payoh which included a trip to our very own NTUC.
Later in the evening, the groups pitched their skills against one another in an afternoon cookout to replicate what they had experienced earlier in the day.
